Anyone got any tips for getting rid of canker sores? - Mahalo Answers
Next time I have a canker sore, I should check here. Dee and I usually use Kanka (which you can buy from Target, or anywhere else) but it doesn't so much speed the healing process as cover the canker sore with a slime coat and numb the area around it. So, you have the canker sore for the same amount of time, it's just less painful.
On one of the answers they suggest a baking soda mixture. That was the favorite cure of my mom but I didn't think it helped all that much. After putting it on (and writhing in pain for 5 minutes because it stings) my mom would always say, "well, now it should be all cleared up in 2-4 days." Well, that's how long it would have lasted had I not put the baking soda mixture on.
