WidgEditor Lightweight WYSIWYG editing

Google Code Download Link. I think I might actually like this editory a little more than WymEditor which is what I currently use. Wym is more feature filled though, though the code from WigEditor is pretty clean and probably easy to modify if I ever dived in.

Siding With HTML over XHTML

I've never been a huge standards guy, but I liked this post, which led me to Beware of XHTML and The Mozilla Web Developer FAQ, which taken as a whole made me switch to HTML 4.0 over XHTML 1.0 transitional for a new project.

I will say though, "Beware of XHTML" seems a little harsh as a title, either standard you use, chances are the browser is going to compensate for any syntax mistakes you make anyway (the logical consequences of years of making syntax mistakes). And, html 4.0 and xhtml 1.1 are close enough in syntax that it would probably take ~20 minutes to switch between them if you did have to change standards.

In fact, the only thing syntax mistakes seem to do is make your site lose some cred from a small but very vocal standards minority.

Comparison of WYSIWYG HTML Editors

While looking for good Open Source WYSIWYG editor for my blogging software I came across this post, It led me to WYMEditor which was ultimately what I chose to integrate. For another comparison check out Genii's List of WYSIWYG editors.
